8 THINGS JESUS PRAYED FOR US….

2013-03-16_12.41.16Jesus prayed that ...

The Father prepare to receive Him back since He had finished His assignment...seen to it that we had eternal life by knowing Him and the Only Begotten Son.  Verse 4-I have finished the work that You have given Me to do.  Glory...remember He said My meat is to accomplish the will of Him that sent Me.  I do always those things that please Him.  Can I get an Amen.

That  is just scratching the surface.  If you really want to know what Jesus planned for us read on:

He prayed for those who were touched by Him already and believed (v. 9)

as well as for those of us who were yet to come and become part of the family of believers (v. 20).

What He wants for us is astounding:

1. THAT THE FATHER KEEP US IN HIS OWN NAME (v. 6, 11, 12, 26 the name of the Father)---this intrigues me because everything else was in Jesus' name (John 16:24-26) so I think because Jesus is about to bear a load of sin for us, He shifts us, His  treasure, to the care of the Father (as He gave His mother to John on the cross) for safekeeping while He goes through an agonizing death, the grave and hell...

2. THAT HIS  JOY WILL BE FULFILLED (v.13) IN US

3. THAT WE BE KEPT FROM EVIL (v. 15) because the world hates us (v.14)

4. THAT WE BE SANCTIFIED(cleansed, delivered, pardoned, washed, purified) IN THE TRUTH--THE WORD--HE IS THE WORD! (v.17)...remember He  is to buy us with His blood from satan, the father of lies, who stole us through Adam and Woman (Eve's) sin

5. THAT WE BE SENT--WE HAVE A MISSION, A PURPOSE, A "GO YE THEREFORE" (v. 18)

6. THAT WE BE PERFECTED (v. 23)...Be ye holy as I am holy... He made the Captain of our salvation perfect through suffering....Paul said that I may know Him and... the fellowship of HIS sufferings being made conformable unto HIS death...

7. THAT WE BE LOVED (v. 23) with the same love that the Father loves Him with ie., no respecter of persons...

8.MOST IMPORTANTLY HE PRAYED FOR UNITY.  IN THIS PRAYER, HE PRAYS FOR UNITY 4 TIMES!!!  that they (us) may be one. v. 11, 20, 22, 23.

Four is the number of unity in scripture.  Four is the number of cooperation, compassion, commitment.  It took 4 to carry the paralytic to Jesus for healing.  Four of them raised the roof.  Jesus wants the four, the Father, the Son, the Holy Ghost and YOU to be one...what an honor...what a privilege...

NOW THAT YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE IN THE SIGHT OF GOD, GET YOUR PRAISE ON AND GO YE THEREFORE...

EIGHT is the number of completion...long as you have the King of Kings and Lord of Lords what do you need ???
